Alpine release ‘Légende GT’ version of new A110
The ‘Légende GT’ version of Alpine’s A110 sports coupe has been given a makeover for 2021, combining GT-style luxury with improved performance.
Exclusive to European markets and limited to just 300 units, the A110 Légende GT is based on the Légende trim level that’s available in Australia, but the 2021 Légende GT adds the 218kW version of the 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the A110S that we don’t get, as well as that variant’s sports exhaust and high-performance braking package.
According to Alpine, this combination creates an entirely new blend of comfort and performance, “underlining its dynamic nature while combining even more refined elements for an unprecedented new model”.
Two colour schemes are offered – Mercury Silver and Abyss Blue – which are matched to specific interior trims. Both colour options feature 18-inch Grand Prix alloys, gold brake calipers, translucent tail lights and pale gold badging.
Mercury Silver, offered in a matte finish for the first time, is paired with Sabelt Comfort bucket seats in black leather with grey stitching, with this combination also applied to the door trims. Abyss Blue features the same seats and door cards, but in Amber Brown. Both versions add a 12 o/clock marker on the steering wheel in stitching that matches the trim colour.
Other interior touches include a Dinamica headliner, model-specific floor mats and selective use of gloss carbon fibre with copper weave, while each of the 300 A110 Légende GT units produced will be identified by a numbered plaque on the centre console.
Utilising the A110S drivetrain means a 1.8-litre turbo four-cylinder engine producing 215kW (instead of the usual 185kW) at 6400rpm and 320Nm from 2000 to 6400rpm. The transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch auto driving the rear wheels, with listed performance of 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds and a 250km/h top speed.
In Australia, only Légende and Pure variants of the A110 are available, priced from $101,000 and $106,000, respectively. Both of these run the 185kW/320Nm 1.8 turbo engine.
