Audi's 100th birthday present... Stunning A5 Sportback
Audi chose the exact date when the company celebrated 100 years - Thursday July 16th - to reveal the third, and perhaps the most desirable member of the A5 family. The A5 Sportback is a striking five door sedan, that combines sweeping curves in an exotic body that sits upon an extended chassis.
The coupe excels with its stylish and sporty profile. The contoured body, and coupe silhouette is the result of a roof section with a long tapering roof line and of the short overhangs at the front and rear as well as the long wheelbase, and the four frameless doors with dynamic window treatment.
The Sportback will launch in Europe in September and in the first quarter of 2010 locally. In Europe a total of two FSI petrol and three common rail TDI engines are available. Audi has confirmed that the Sportback will launch in Australia with choice of both FSI petrol and turbo diesel engines. The FSI petrol commence with the 155kW 2.0FSI quattro and the 176kW 3.2 V6 quattro. Turbo diesel engines are offered in 2.0, 2.7 and 3.0-litre configuration, all paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Final engine range and pricing are yet to be finalised for Australian customers.
