Big V8 Supercar collection sold
A major collection of significant V8 Supercars has been sold. The nine-car collection, acquired over years by Sydney-based Muscle Car Warehouse (MCW), was sold to an anonymous private buyer in a deal brokered by Young Timer Garage (YTG).

Cars in the collection included Bathurst and V8 Supercar championship winners built by Stone Brothers Racing, Perkins Engineering and Triple Eight Race Engineering. A condition of the sale was that the collection stays together, which YTG was able to achieve after a long search to find the right buyer.
"What a privilege and an honour to have played a small part in the incredible stories of some of the most iconic V8 Supercars ever raced,” a YTG representative stated.
"We are very excited to confirm that the MCW Collection has officially been passed on - all together - to a worthy new home. The next chapter for these cars is going to be truly special.”

Three cars from Stone Brothers included the EL Falcon (originally built by Allan Jones Racing) that was driven to victory at Bathurst by Jason Bright and Steven Richards in 1998. The other two were the AU Falcon driven by Marcos Ambrose in the 2001-02 season, and the BA Falcon in which Ambrose achieved back-to-back V8 Supercar titles in 2003-04.
Cars from Perkins Engineering included the VP Commodore that Larry Perkins and Gregg Hansford drove to victory in the 1993 Bathurst 1000, and a VY Commodore that was used for Perkins’s last Bathurst start in 2003.

Cars from Triple Eight included the VE Commodore in which Jamie Whincup won two of his seven V8 Supercars titles, and one of the most significant Bathurst winners of all, the BA Falcon in which Craig Lowndes and Whincup won an emotional Bathurst 1000 in 2006.
An ex-Jim Richards 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera Cup car and a 1990 Gibson Motorsport HR31 Skyline driven by Richards and Mark Skaife are believed to have been part of the sale, too.

Under MCW ownership, the cars were maintained in running condition and displayed in public, including at the 60th Anniversary Bathurst celebrations in 2023, when the 1993, 2006 and 2012 winners were on track. The new owner is expected to also make these cars available for public events in the future.
