Brock cars coming to Dreamworld
Plans were unveiled at the start of September for the new interactive motorsports precinct, which will feature a high-tech display for 30 genuine and replica Brock cars, as well as V8 Supercar racing simulators, a motorsport-themed alteration of the Cyclone rollercoaster, eateries, bars, retail areas and more.
The new multi-million dollar motorsports precinct covers 6,000 square metres within Dreamworld and is set to open after Christmas.
Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson described the upcoming facility as an Australian first, adding that the attraction was designed to appeal to a wide audience.
"There is nothing 'museum' about this," said Davidson. "It's a motorsport-themed thrill-ride precinct anchored by a celebration of Australian motorsport and Brock's achievements from the 1970s through to his modern day legacy."
The Brock cars include his most significant Bathurst rides, from the 1972 Torana XU-1 through to the 1980s Commodores, including the 'Big Banger'.
"We are working closely with the Brock family and our partners to ensure the attraction is authentic and like nothing experienced in Australia before," Davidson added.
In addition to being a family venue, the new precinct will also serve as a corporate destination for up to 250 people. For details, visit:dreamworld.com.au
