Cadillac and LaSalle Nationals - 2008
If the sight of close to two dozen '59 Cadillacs is something you'd like to see for yourself, then you should definitely make the time to visit this event. With a "Pebble Beach" style car show at the National Motor Museum at Birdwood, you'll not only get a chance to see an awesome procession of finned Caddys, but also Cadillacs from just about every decade of manufacture, with the oldest confirmed attendee being a 1905 tourer. More than 70 Cadillacs are already signed up, with more than 100 expected by the time festivities commence on March 29. This will make the Nationals the biggest Cadillac congregation outside the USA. Of course, all Cadillac owners and their Caddys, stock or modified, are welcome to attend.
A number of international visitors are confirmed, with committee members volunteering to chauffeur the guests - in Cadillacs, of course - to all the event activities. Event organisers are crossing their fingers that one of the new 2008 Cadillac CTS sedans (see last issue's Forum) will be in the country in time to be part of the event, too. Aside from an an awesome array of Cadillacs, the Nationals will also host a number of tours and activities over the course of the five days. From winery picnics and brewery tours to shopping trips, rocking horses and Lego (really!), there's something to interest just about everyone.
