Ferrari Racing Days raises $73K for charity
At the glamorous rooftop Veuve Clicqout Bar, surrounded by a 'Ferrari Red' glow that could be seen from every angle on the Sydney harbour, an exclusive guest list of 300 Ferrari owners, along with Challenge, FXX/F1 drivers and other VIPs, partied the night away.
DJ John Course kicked the evening off with some club tunes while guests were surprised later on in the evening with a special guest performance from Sony Music artist Samantha Jade, whose amazing vocals thrilled the crowd and got everyone in the party mood.
Later, the Sony Foundation, who are an official partner of FRD, held a Live Auction to raise funds for their Youth Cancer Program, 'You Can'.
With the help of the event partners such as Hublot, Veuve Clicquot, ARDC and Sony, the Ferrari community raised a staggering $73,000 for the charity, with the top Prize being a signed Fernando Alonso replica race suit, which went for $20,000.
All funds raised will be directed towards the building of a Sony Foundation's new You Can Centre for young adult cancer patients at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney.
"We are delighted to be able to support such a wonderful charity as the Sony Foundation that works to help Young Australians who live with cancer through their You Can program," said Herbert Appleroth, CEO, Ferrari Australasia.
"Ferrari Racing Days has been a perfect outlet to get the important message of the Sony Foundation to our entire Ferrari Network and public. We look forward to working with the Sony Foundation again in the future."
Sophie Ryan, CEO, Sony Foundation, thanked the participants who raised such an impressive amount.
