Jaguar confirm F-Type 'Project 7' for production
Based on the F-Type convertible, the production Project 7 will be limited to just 250 units, and is the first product of Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations team that handle short-run and specialty builds.
While the solo racing seat and helmet storage from the concept Project 7 won't translate across to the production version, many of the appearance features will, including bonnet striping, provision for racing numbers, shorter windshield and the D—Type-inspired fairing behind the driver, which is now a 'double hump' style to accommodate the passenger, too.
The design is the work of Jaguar's Director of Design, Ian Callum. While much of the design is as per the F-Type convertible, there are some unique touches, like the carbon fibre side skirts, rear diffuser and adjustable rear spoiler.
The limited edition will make its debut at this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed, with initial deliveries to start in mid-2015.
