K-Mac Camber Kits – for stance and style
While fitting a camber kit to your street or competition car can play a BIG part in improving how it steers, brakes and handles (as well as optimising tyre life), there are also aesthetic applications.
If you want to achieve the camber like what’s seen in Japanese car culture, or replicate the aggressive look of Mustangs and Camaros in the Supercars Championship, you can do it with a K-Mac camber kit.

K-Mac has been in the business of improving vehicle handling since 1964. Kevin McIntyre, the man behind the brand, is an expert in the field, with decades of developments and innovations behind him – many of which have been copied by rivals.
A Better Looker
While Kevin is all about making cars better in terms of handling and improved tyre life (often making them better than when they left the factory), he understands that some people just want that exaggerated camber look - improvements in steering and handling are a bonus. With that in mind, a K-Mac camber kit is ideal for these applications.
Here in Australia, the exaggerated camber look is most commonly seen on late model European and Japanese street cars. More commonly known as “stance cars” this camber style has its origins in the ‘Onikyan’ movement of Japanese car culture, which literally translates to ‘Demon Camber’. Cars in this scene run 10 and sometimes even up to 20 degrees of negative camber. Obviously, this is seriously detrimental to handling and performance, but with Onikyan, it’s all about the look!
Kevin explains that anything beyond 5 degrees of negative camber offers no real benefit - that’s why K-Mac camber kits are adjustable up to 5 degrees. Kevin adds that this is all you need to sharpen handling for everyday driving and competition use (V8 Supercars run the same level of adjustment), while delivering that stance look.
The beauty of a K-Mac camber kit is so you can enhance the camber of your car for ‘show’ and ‘go’, then dial it back if needed - adjustments are fully reversible.
A Better Performer
Speaking of ‘go’, adjustment of the camber, caster and toe on your vehicle can have a significant impact on its steering performance. Kevin explains that, even with a couple of degrees of camber adjustment (compensating for toe), you can achieve notable improvements in steering, as well as better traction and braking response.
Furthermore, Kevin points out that, without a kit like his, front camber/caster and rear camber adjustment is impossible in virtually every new vehicle being built today. Because of the ever-increasing speed of new car assembly lines, stopping the line to add in this variability is not an option. This even includes high-end performance models from Mercedes-AMG and BMW M. With camber and caster pre-set to suit showroom height conditions, this puts the onus back on owners to fund costly – and premature – tyre replacement caused by problems that could be fixed by the correct camber and caster.
Kevin adds that, when dealership service departments offer a ‘full wheel alignment,’ they’re really adjusting toe only. That means there’s no way to improve alignment and reduce costly premature tyre wear in modern vehicles without the addition of a K-Mac adjustable camber kit.
With kits starting from less than the cost of a single high-performance tyre, it’s an investment that’ll pay for itself many times over.

All this means that, even if you purchase a K-Mac camber kit to enhance your car’s look, you can improve its handling, too – a double benefit!
