Morgan Australian availability update

The new year also sees new technical regulations coming into force in Europe, which has led local importers Morgan Cars Australia (MCA) to clarify the range available for local delivery.

Morgan 4/4: The 1.6 litre 4-cylinder Morgan 4/4 has been discontinued in Europe, but MCA are holding options on the last few production slots for cars with ADR compliant engines. There will be no more 4/4 models offered in its current, naturally aspirated form after these slots have been filled and there is no confirmation on whether a replacement is coming.

Current local RRP for the 4/4, excluding options and ORCs, is $94,000.

Morgan Plus 4: As with the 4/4, there are only a handful of slots left for the 2.0 litre Plus 4 with the ADR compliant engine.

Current RRP for the Plus 4 model, excluding options and ORCs, is $105,000.

Morgan Roadster V6: Updated for 2019 with a new 5-link rear suspension and a limited slip diff, the high-performance 3.7 litre-engined Roadster remains available, with locally-delivered examples fitted with adjustable dampers all round as standard.

Roadster V6 pricing, excluding options and ORCs, is $145,000.

Morgan 3 Wheeler: Unaffected by the regulation changes applied to the four- and six-cylinder engine Morgans, the 3 Wheeler remains available for 2019. It is also available with a number of ‘No Cost Options’ for the 110 Year Anniversary, until further notice.

Local pricing for the 3 Wheeler is $107,000, excluding options and ORCs.

Morgan Plus 8 and Aero 8: With the BMW N62 V8 engine from these models failing to meet the latest emissions standards, both have been discontinued. None are available for local delivery, with the last few built to go into Morgan’s own heritage fleet.

A forced-induction six-cylinder Morgan will become the new range-topper in place of the Plus 8/Aero 8, with testing of this ‘wide body’ model now underway, ahead of a likely release in 2020 or 2021.
