New Audi TT local pricing revealed
Despite no details on local specifications or pricing being available until now, Audi Australia's Managing Director, Andrew Doyle, confirmed that almost 250 local orders had already been placed for the new model since it was announced last year.
The Gen 3 Audi TT will arrive in February in two distinct model lines - Sport and S line. Both will feature the Audi virtual cockpit as standard, MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch, electric front seats upholstered in Alcantara and leather, as well as a convenience key. Matrix LED headlights and a selection of new alloy wheel designs will also be available.
All locally-delivered TT models will be powered by a 2.0 TFSI engine that produces 169kW and 370Nm, driving through a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic auto, with either front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel-drive. The new TT will reach 100km/h in as little as 5.3 seconds, while returning fuel efficiency figures as low as 6.4lt/100km, according to Audi.
Starting price for the all-new, third generation TT is $71,950 MLP; a $3,500 discount over the Gen 2 2.0 TFSI starting price, but still a $2,600 premium over the previous entry-level 1.8 TFSI-powered TT, which has been discontinued. Expect dual clutch auto and quattro-equipped models to jack this entry price up significantly.
Audi Australia's Doyle believes the combination of sharper pricing and advanced technology offered as standard will create new excitement in the small sports car segment.
"Now more than ever, the new TT is a true sports car and also a technology leader," said Doyle. "In Australia, we know that our TT customers place a high value on the kind of technology that is showcased in this car, so we have worked hard to ensure a really outstanding level of standard equipment."
Further pricing and specification details will be announced at launch.
