Spyker's Oz debut
The $650,000 hand built convertible features a mid-mounted all-aluminium V8 engine sourced from Audi, which produces 300kW rear wheel distribution. The C8 Spyder's aluminium frame keeps overall kerb weight to 1250 kgs, allowing it to sprint to 100 km/hr in a claimed 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/hr.
The interior, the handiwork of an aircraft cockpit designer, is clad in stitched leather and features a constellation of instrument gauges and switches on a brushed aluminium dashboard. The styling may not be to everyone's taste, but when seen in the metal, it can't be denied that the C8 Spyder is certainly a breathtaking machine.
