Bubsie and the Boys
Signs Publishing
In 1925, two Seventh Day Adventist missionaries in a borrowed Citroen 5CV started a journey that would make history. What was intended to be a drive from Perth to Darwin selling literature turned into the first circumnavigation of mainland Australia by car. The story of this incredible feat is told in Bubsie and the Boys by David Riley.
In this thoroughly researched, 200-page illustrated softcover, Riley details the 148-day, 17,000km journey and its challenges, from limited availability of fuel and poor roads, to rivals in faster vehicles that, once publicity spread, intended to complete the around Australia trip first.
$32.95 RRP from Dymocks. Audio book and eBook also available.
