This 1965 Chevrolet Malibu Sports Coupe was originally powered by a 283 cubic inch V8 with a two barrel Rochester carbie. In 2003 the original engine was replaced with a 327 that has many performance upgrades including ported and polished ''461'' fuellie heads and a Rochester Quadrajet from a 70-71 GMC. The transmission is a two speed Powerglide with upgraded internals and the diff is a 10 bolt with 3.08 gear ratio. The brakes were originally four wheel drums with no vacuum assist but they have been swapped out for a twin circuit system with power assisted front wheel discs. All brake upgrade components are factory from 1970- 1972 Chevelle donor cars. In 2001 the radiator was recored and the interior was replaced along with all body seals and the front grille. Original wheels with white walls and full wheel covers. This classic is consigned with us at Firepower Customs and Classics and is in the care of the owner in Caloundra Qld. Inspections are by appointment only. This Chevelle drives well and is a great cruiser with power steering, great brakes and smooth road feel.
