1974 XB GS Fairmont coupe for sale Here's a matching numbers XB GS Coupe... I purchased this car about 9 years ago from a family friend when their Father and original owner passed away at 93 years of age. He and his Brother went to Ford and both purchased identical Tropic Gold 302 GS, automatic, power steering, air conditioned coupes and i ended up with this one and sold it to a client in 2007 and he has now brought it back to me to be sold on consignment. The car had 46,000 miles when i purchased it and has its original sales book with the original owners details, it now show 48,900 miles so done approx 3000 miles in the last 9 years and has had quite a bit of maintenance along the way to make her a nice drivable car. The radiator was removed and replaced with an alloy one with a thermo fan to keep her cool, inlet manifold and carby was upgraded, the air conditioning system overhauled. All the trim is original with the exception of the carpet being replaced and GS steering wheel reconditioned some time ago and a patch repair in the upper of the rear seat. Body wise it's very nice and that's hard to say about a coupe, it has had some minor rust repairs fixed with steel and most of the car has been repainted... I’d describe this car as a survivor, it's not had a resto... its looks the same as when i purchased it with the exception of the lambs wool seat covers the old guy had and it had a silver grill from factory that has since been replaced with a reconditioned black grill and the original optioned wheels have been restored. All in all this is a real honey of a car, I’ve had a lot of coupes and those that know me know I own one myself and i know they are rust prone cars that are typically messed with. If you're looking for a nice honest old survivor to cruise and enjoy this is it. With coupe prices rocketing this will make for a great blue chip investment to tuck away in the garage and to cruise whenever you feel like it. It's a coupe and they just don't present themselves like this so if you want one it's one you'll need to move pretty quickly on.
