Purchased new by the Fletcher family in June of 1975 this Adelaide built panel van has frequented many swap meets, car shows and events since then and will be a familiar car to many.
The Sandman (WM70) was a factory delivered 253V8 (QR650476), 4 speed manual with black interior, now running a 308V8 with original transmission. The original 253V8 engine comes with the car (see photos - engine stand not included) and the vendor tells us that it had done around 60,000kms before being removed and replaced with the current 308V8 to gain more towing power.
At the time of purchase the vehicle was fitted with after market air conditioning, factory power steering and front disc brakes.
Car was sold new in Yarraville, Victoria and comes with the following: original purchase receipt, books, Holden verification letter, associated ephemera including air conditioning etc.
The car is a very original example including paint, interior etc and as you can see on the Holden verification letter the Sandman decals were never placed on the car.
Here for genuine sale this Sandman panel van is an eye catching example, exudes originality and can easily be put back together as genuine matching number car. Has been on full Victorian registration (sold unregistered) and has recently passed a full Victorian roadworthy. (see photos)
