Starting development as a 944 S3, the 968 is famed as the best Straight Four powered car Porsche ever produced. Taking the best mechanics from the S2, the team at Porsche redeveloped almost all of them, leaving just 20% untouched. The styling also undertook a redesign, following the cues of the 928 and the finished product resulted in a rounder and more modern design.
