One of only 23 cars built, the Shelby 1000 is based on the Mustang GT500 and rebuilt by Shelby with significant upgrades to the driveshaft, full coil suspension, brakes, headers, exhaust, fuel system, interior, chassis and body. The supercharged and intercooled engine was hand built by Shelby with forged internals, ported heads, and cooling and fuel system upgrades. Horse Power is reported to be up to 1000HP to the wheels.
