Aston Martin unveil next 'Bond' car
Previously, the gadget-laden British sports cars driven by 007 have been based around production models, but the new film will feature the 'DB10,' an Aston created specifically for the movie.
Unveiled on the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios in the UK, the DB10 was designed and built exclusively in-house at Aston Martin. The handiwork of the marque's design and engineering teams is expected to be a taste of a future production model to replace the current DB9, or even a challenger to Jaguar's F—Type, although Aston Martin haven't confirmed anything at this at this stage.
For the DB10, Aston Martin's design team, led by Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, worked closely with Spectre's director, Sam Mendes, to create what's been described as the ultimate car for the world's most famous spy.
Dr Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said: "In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond.
"To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin.
Production will be limited to 10 cars (presumably all for the film), developed and built at Aston Martin's Gaydon headquarters.
Spectre is due for release in November, 2015.
