Classic Holdens, Fords on offer at Chicane’s upcoming August auction
Chicane Auctions have released details on their next online auction, which runs from 27 August to 3 September, 2026. The full docket was still being assembled at time of writing, but the Melbourne-based boutique auction house has already attracted some exceptional cars.
Fans of Aussie classics, Australian and American muscle should definitely check this auction out!

Leading the way is a 1967 Holden HR Premier sedan that presents outstandingly. Following a full restoration (completed in 2022), this matching-numbers car has been a multiple trophy winner at the HD-HR Nationals. Finished in Savannah Bronze metallic with a Grecian White roof, this Premier also features authentic details, like full-width hubcaps and white stripe tyres, plus NASCO mirrors and door handle scuff plates.

Under the bonnet, there’s a 186ci six red motor and Powerglide two-speed automatic, both of which have been fully rebuilt to factory spec. The power front disc brakes, steering gear and front suspension have been rebuilt, too. Inside, there’s Honey Fawn button vinyl upholstery and wood grain trim, which are as immaculate as the rest of this car. A rear venetian and the original factory AM radio also feature.

The second HR Holden in this auction is a 1967 utility that has had only three owners from new and was the subject of a thorough, five-year restoration. In the classic Finisterre Green, this ute wears a number of period NASCO accessories, including a sunvisor, rear venetian, stone guards and fuel filler lip. The timber floor in the ute tub is immaculate and a new soft tonneau cover is fitted.

Wider 13-inch wheels and tyres, along with a subtle suspension drop, point to this ute having something special under the bonnet. In this case, it’s a 186 red motor, fully rebuilt to X2-spec and matched to this ute’s original, rebuilt three-speed manual transmission. Inside, there’s Triton Green vinyl trim, with X2 instrumentation and modern three-point seatbelts added. A set of custom-made 15-inch mag wheels will be included in the sale of this show-quality vehicle.

Perhaps the most attractive offering amongst the early consignments for Chicane’s August auction is a 1973 Ford XB Falcon GT sedan. Finished in the rare, but now very sought-after Mulberry metallic with silver paint outs, this genuine GT is a well-optioned example, with air conditioning, power steering, power windows and a wind-back sunroof all selected by the original owner.

Under the bonnet, there’s a matching numbers 351 V8, matched to an FMX three-speed automatic and factory nine-inch diff. Lowered suspension (including a tramp-rod set-up at the rear), four-wheel power disc brakes and wider 12-slot wheels with white letter tyres also feature on this car.
Inside, a radio cassette deck was factory fitted, while the white vinyl seat trim is accented with black velour inserts. GT instrumentation and an XW/XY-type steering wheel also feature inside.

Additional lots confirmed for this auction include a 1969 HT Monaro GTS, 1972 HQ Monaro GTS 350 coupe, 1975 XB Falcon GS hardtop and a 1969 Shelby Mustang GT350, with more to come.
