1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS
The ‘SS’ trim level has been a constant throughout the lifetime of the Camaro - available on the very first and the very last examples built.
In 1967, the Camaro SS was the first Chevrolet of any type to be fitted with the 350ci version of the famous Small Block V8, with a 396ci V8 optional. By 1969, a Camaro SS could also be optioned with four-wheel disc brakes.
Enhanced in SS form, the aggressive design of the 1969 Camaro inspired the 2010 Camaro revival. Today, a ’69 SS is regarded by many as the ultimate Camaro.

1948 Buick Super
Buick’s ‘Super’ made its debut for the 1940 model year as an upmarket version of the entry-level Special. A longer wheelbase and new ‘Sedanet’ fastback body arrived for 1942 and continued post war, joining conventional 4-door sedan and 2-door convertible body styles. A 4-door wagon was added in 1946.
The 248ci straight eight that the Super debuted with was still the standard engine in 1948, although offering slightly more power (115hp) than the Special (110hp).
With 108,301 units built in 1948, the Super was more popular than both the Special and Roadmaster that year.
This 1948 Buick Super is available from Joe’s Golden Gasoline, SA.

1976 Toyota LandCruiser 40 Series
Arguably the most iconic LandCruiser of all, the 40 Series debuted in 1960, introducing a new 3.9-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, along with a much-needed low-range transfer case.
Various four- and six-cylinder diesels would be available across the 40 Series’ long production life, as well as short and long wheelbase chassis, and trayback, soft top and troopcarrier body styles. In 1975, a larger 4.2-litre petrol six debuted, with front disc brakes available in some markets a year later.
Even after the introduction of the 60 Series LandCruiser in 1981, the 40 Series would be sold alongside it for several years.
This 1976 LandCruiser is available from a private seller in QLD.

1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible
While it would establish its own identity in later years, the early Firebird was a very close sibling to the Chevrolet Camaro that it was based on.
Debuting in February, 1967 (a few months after the Camaro) and available as a coupe or convertible, the first-year Firebird could be had with a 230ci six, 326ci V8 or 400ci V8. For 1968, the 230 was enlarged to 250ci, a 350 V8 replaced the 326 and a Ram Air option was available for the 400 V8.
One-piece side glass and side marker lights were among a handful of other changes made to the 1968 Firebird.

1953 Packard Clipper
Packard's first 'Clipper' arrived in 1941 as an all-new model. The nameplate was revived after World War II, dropped for 1948 and revived again for 1953, replacing the entry-level ‘200’ model. The goal was to eventually establish Clipper as a separate marque.
The base Clipper for 1953 was fitted with a 288ci straight eight, while the Clipper De Luxe came with a 327ci straight eight. The two grades were also defined by different equipment and trim levels. A choice of 2- and 4-door sedan bodies were available on both grades, along with a ‘Sportster’ coupe on the base Clipper.
This 1953 Packard Clipper is available from a private seller in NSW.

1964 Chevrolet Corvette
For the second year of its second generation, the most notable change on the Corvette Sting Ray was the deletion of the ‘split window’ rear on the coupe. Other minor exterior changes (some practical, some cosmetic) were applied to both the coupe and convertible, with new-look wheels added, too.
A 327ci V8 continued as the sole Corvette engine in 1964, although it was available in various output levels – from 250hp up to 375hp. Optional to the standard three-speed manual transmission were two different four-speed manuals and a two-speed automatic.
Combined coupe and convertible production for the 1964 Corvette totalled 22,229.
