GT F No.1 and No. 500 to be auctioned for charity
The hero GT F, build No. 001, and the ultimate collectable, GT F build No. 500, have both been held back by Ford specifically for the auctions. Given their historical significance, both these cars are expected to reach high totals.
"We are using the power of our most powerful GT ever to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation further fund breast cancer research," says, Bob Graziano, Ford President and CEO.
"These two iconic vehicles are the result of the innovation and passion of Ford and its engineers, and we aim to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the equally passionate researchers in their bid to achieve a future of zero deaths from breast cancer.
"We are totally committed to this cause and moving forward, one of the key priorities will be continuing our support of the communities in which we live and work, along with the broader Australian community."
The auctions will raise funds to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation to move closer towards its goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. National Breast Cancer Foundation CEO, Carole Renouf, was delighted to learn of Ford's generosity.
"At the National Breast Cancer Foundation we've long been very appreciative of Ford's support but this is quite unexpected," she said.
"We are honoured that these two significant vehicles are being auctioned to benefit breast cancer research and form part of Ford's fundraising efforts for the year.
"The National Breast Cancer Foundation understands the historical importance of these cars to enthusiasts. I am pleased that they will know that they are also supporting a tremendous cause.
"Thanks to the ongoing support of the community and corporate partners such as Ford, we can continue our efforts to reduce the impact of breast cancer on Australians through research."
'Pink Is The New Blue' auction vehicles
FPV GT F 001, complete with Victorian registration GTF 001 and manual transmission, comes in Kinetic Blue with a matte black stripe package.
It has been used by Ford as the "hero car" for the model's launch program, with the vehicle featuring in video clips, social media campaigns and the road test program.
FPV GT F 500 is a brand new vehicle, planned with a manual transmission, but yet to be built, which will enable the lucky winning bidder the opportunity to select their preferred vehicle colour and stripe combination.
The auctions of both vehicles will take place simultaneously on eBay and will go live on the evening of Sunday, August 17. The auctions are open to all individuals and organisations in Australia. Bidders will have just seven (7) days to make their best offer before activity concludes at 8pm on Sunday, August 24.
