Junior Rally champs on Ten
The 12 finalists in the competition fought it out on the challenging rally roads of the Coffs Harbour region during the World Championship Rally Australia last month, with the two wheel drive and four wheel drive winners emerging after two days of tough competition in often treacherous conditions.
Ten will screen the one-hour special at 12 noon on Saturday 29th October, allowing viewers a window into the fight for one of the most sought-after prizes in Australian rallying.
According to CEO of the Bosch Australian Rally Championship, Scott Pedder, the Rallyschool.com.au Australian Junior Challenge brought the best young talent in Australian rallying together and highlighted how much a talent there is in the sport in Australia.
"Both the two wheel drive winner Will Orders in his Nissan Silvia and four wheel drive winner Tom Wilde in his Subaru had to battle hard throughout the final and the TV show really highlights this intense fight for the prize," said Scott Pedder.
"Hopefully with the prospect of more manufacturers coming into the sport the performances of these drivers will bring them to the attention of a factory team and perhaps lead to bigger things," Scott added.
For winning the two wheel drive section, Will Orders will receive an all expenses paid entry in the final round of this year's Bosch ARC Rally Victoria, driving a Rallyschool.com.au ARC Car competing for Outright results. As well he will receive a one-day driving and co-driving tuition with Rallyschool.com.au and 2010 ARC Champions Simon and Sue Evans.
The four wheel drive winner, Tom Wilde, will receive free entry into Rally Victoria using their own rally car, along with a $2000 contribution for vehicle preparation and conversion to ARC Car specifications, as well as eight Kumho tyres and a one-day driving and co-driving tuition with Rallyschool.com.au and 2010 ARC Champions Simon and Sue Evans.
