MINI release Clubvan concept
Set to be officially unveiled at March's Geneva Motor Show, the Clubvan harks back to the classic Morris Mini Van of the 1960s. Based on the MINI Clubman model, the Clubvan concept replaces the rear seats and boot area with a decent sized storage space - certainly more than the Clubman - and blanks off the rear side windows to create a large area for signage.
A mesh grille separates the front seats from the load area, while the redesigned flat floor features tie-down attachment points, with provision to fit shelving and other storage options. With the existing barn-style rear doors, it fits the delivery mould, supplemented by the additional drivers-side door on the production Clubman for easy access.
With the Renault Kangoo, VW Caddy and others proving the market for small delivery vans exist, don't be surprised if MINI expands their range further by bringing the Clubvan to production.
The concept to make its debut at Geneva is finished in British Racing Green, with the generic business livery applied by hand. The Geneva Motor Show starts on March 6.
