RACQ Motorfest 2009
Three famous marques will celebrate their centenary at RACQ MotorFest 2009, Queensland's largest showcase of vintage, veteran, classic and special interest vehicles. Morgan, Hudson and Audi will all stage feature displays to mark their 100-year milestone at the event that returns to Brisbane's Eagle Farm Racecourse on Sunday June 28.
The motoring club's premier community event attracted a record crowd of more than 12,000 last year and featured 800 vehicles, fashion parades, wine tasting, carnival rides and interactive technology simulators. MotorFest 2009 offers something for every family member, from checking out the display vehicles to casting an eye over the latest catwalk trends or watching a special performance from Australian Idol finalist Chrislyn Hamilton. For the children, there are rides, face painting and presentations by RACQ's Streets Ahead team at Kids' Corner. Motor racing fans can see top V8 Supercar driver Fabian Coulthard and the Wilson Security Racing team show car or test their driving skills in the Mitsubishi Evo rally simulator.
RACQ MotorFest is a community event for all ages and with admission by donation, won't break the family budget. Proceeds from the event go to the RACQ Helicopter Rescue Network, with last year's event raising almost $18,000 for these vital community services. Vehicle registration for the event will be processed on a first come, first served basis. The expected demand for display space at this year's event has prompted RACQ to limit registrations to 800, ensuring all vehicles are showcased to their best advantage while allowing eager crowds to easily move between exhibits.
