Auction Car Highlights
With more than 40 vehicles on offer, there’s plenty to choose from and something to suit just about any automotive taste.
Here are some of the highlights…
Lot 144 – 1977 Ford XC Falcon hardtop – NO RESERVE
Wild custom street machine, no expense spared, over 1000hp supercharged 572 V8
One of three No Reserve lots in this auction, this XC hardtop, known as ‘EVIL XC’, is a full, ground-up custom build. What started as a stock, six-cylinder XC hardtop was stripped and subjected to numerous body modifications, including wider rear guards, a smoothed engine bay, custom radiator support, custom wiper cowl cover and filled under guards. XA Superbird rear louvres and a genuine GT rear wing were added ahead of a respray in PPG Vapour metallic grey with black stripes.
A huge wheel and tyre combo – 18x8 front and 22x13 rear - are custom two-piece GT Wheels in the Bathurst Globe style, wrapped in Nitto Invo tyres. The body is slammed onto these big rims via Accuair E-level air suspension, with a four-link rear and independent front with tubular control arms and strut tower delete. This has been worked around the steering rack from a BF Falcon, with Wilwood disc brakes used at all four corners.
In the custom engine bay, a Ford Motorsport SVO 572ci V8 has been matched to a 14/71 supercharger built in the US, with a bunch of other custom parts added locally, including an Eagle forged crank, Clevite bearigns, Comp Cams cam, Meling oil pump and much more. Producing 1,000hp at the crank, this engine is matched to a race-prepped Powerglide automatic built to handle 1,500hp, with an equally tough, hand-made diff completing the driveline.
Inside, a full custom fitout includes Nappa leather and Alcantara trim on VF Commodore front seats and a BMW 7 Series rear seat, split by a full-length centre console. The custom-made dash features Dakota Digital gauges, with a Momo steering wheel, billet dash buttons, Vintage Air air con, a Pioneer Pro sound system (including three 12-inch subwoofers), keyless entry and four-point harnesses on all seats.
Since completion, EVIL XC has featured in the December, 2021, issue of Street Machine magazine and has been an award winner at numerous custom car shows. The car has been engineer approved in Queensland, with the blue plate certificate provided, along with a folder of receipts and manuals relating to the build.

Lot 139 – 1968 Holden HK Monaro
GTS tribute, Silver Mink with red interior, air con and power disc brake upgrade, 450 V8, T700R auto
Completed in 2019, with only around 1,000kms covered since, the rebuild of this original HK Monaro into a GTS tribute came with some upgrades and extras.
Starting with the body, a strip down and respray in Silver Mink, the most popular HK Monaro colour, is complemented with refurbished or replacement exterior trim, as well as GTS badging and striping.
Fully rewired and with new rubbers throughout, the car sits lower than factory due to reset springs and a set of Pedders shocks, and while polished Centerline wheels add a classic street machine touch, the body hasn’t been tubbed.
Under the bonnet, in a fully detailed engine bay, sits a 350 SBC that’s been warmed up to produce 450hp and fitted with aftermarket headers and a custom dual exhaust. The V8 is matched to a Turbo 700r 4-speed automatic with 3500rpm stall convertor, while a 9-inch diff with 3.55 gears completes the driveline.
Inside, a full retrim used factory-style red vinyl sourced through Winner Products, with the GTS look of the exterior continued with a GTS 327-style tacho and a genuine GTS steering wheel, while the B&M shifter for the auto looks like a factory unit. Air conditioning has been well integrated into the cabin and uses existing controls and vents.

Lot 112 – 1946 Chevrolet pickup
Full hot rod-style build, RHD conversion, power steering, power brakes, air con, 355 V8, 5spd manual
Combining cool custom looks with the practicality of right-hand drive, this ’46 Chevy pickup was an original, low mileage truck when it was sourced from Oregon and imported to Australia eight years ago. It then underwent a comprehensive rebuild by Bundaberg Rod & Custom into what you see here.
To suit its planned upgrades, the pickup’s chassis was fully boxed and K-framed, a tailshaft loop was added and a Mustang IFS fitted, with disc brakes also added to the front end. At the rear, a limited slip diff from a VS Commodore was matched up to HQ Holden springs, new shock absorbers, a sway bar and Commodore disc brakes.
The rust-free cab needed only minimal repair before it was repainted in two-tone Rose over Jet Black with metalflake. The tub, rear guards (wider units sourced from the US) and new running boards were finished in Jet Black, while the tub floor was lined with white oak. New lights, glass and rubbers were fitted, with a sunvisor, hand spotlight and 17-inch REV wheels added.
Power now comes from a 304 V8 sourced from a VS Commodore that has been stroked to 355ci, fitted with a multitude of performance parts and matched to a T5 5-speed manual transmission.
Inside, the custom fitout includes a bench seat retrimmed in black with red glitter highlights and retractable seat belts for three, custom doorcards, air con and a Bluetooth sound system, while the RHD conversion includes a collapsible tilt steering column. There are Dolphin gauges in the instrument cluster, while the shifter knob is a repurposed microphone.
The finished build complies with LH10 hot rod registration for unrestricted use.

Lot 125- 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302
Fully restored, genuine Boss, matching numbers, 302 V8, 4spd manual.
The Boss 302 came about to homologate the Mustang’s 302 V8 for the SCAA’s Trans Am racing series. To meet Trans Am’s 5.0-litre capacity limit, Ford matched the 302 Windsor block with Cleveland heads, along with other parts that ensured greater durability.
Other changes to suit the circuit (not oval) racing series that was Trans Am included upgraded suspension, steering and brakes, while minor aero add-ons and a bold ‘C-stripe’ on the flanks identified the new model against other ’69 Mustangs.
This particular Boss 302 is one of 1,628 built in 1969, finished in Calypso Coral with a black interior and retains its original 302 V8 and 4-speed manual transmission, while the original owner optioned it with the ‘V Code’ 3.91 Traction Lok rear axle that came with its own oil cooler.
Other factory options on this car include power steering, power brakes, rear window louvre, colour-keyed mirrors, a tachometer, AM radio and more.
The car wears Trans Am-style Minilites in the photo, matched to a set of period-correct Goodyear Polyglas tyres, but a set of Magnum wheels will be included with the sale, along with documentation that includes a Marti report confirming this car’s provenance.

Lot 142 - 1959 Chevrolet El Camino – NO RESERVE
Fully refurbished and customised, airbag suspension, disc brakes, power steering, 383 and T350 auto.
This classic car-based Chevy pickup was purchased as a solid, unrestored vehicle in 2012 and taken to the next level with a full custom rebuild.
What proved to be a solid body when stripped back to bare metal was repainted in gloss black with all the chrome parts refinished and the stainless trim refurbished, too. The El Camino rides on steel wheels with ’59 Impala hubcaps and whitewalls. Factory rear spats are included.
Inside the fully retrimmed cabin, there are some subtle aftermarket gauges and controls for the airbag suspension, but it’s mostly stock ’59 Chevy, with the bench seat, dash doorcards and headlining in red, with a black carpeted floor, while the ute tub has a black lining.
Under the bonnet, a more powerful 383ci V8 has been fitted in place of the original engine, matched to a T350 automatic with column shift. The 383 features an Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley four-barrel carby, as well as an upgraded cooling system and custom exhaust.
A disc brake front end and power steering are other upgrades on this striking El Camino – a model that’s rarely seen at all, and rarer still in this condition.

Lot 141 – 1970 Ford XY Falcon GT sedan
Genuine GT, rare colour, 1-of-1 specification, manual trans conversion, ACCHS report, ICAARS inspected.
A rare unit already, what makes this XY Falcon GT sedan even rarer is that it was one of 50 with Special Order paint and one of only 6 finished in Surfer Orange that had originally been applied to the XW Surferoo utes.
Fully restored in the late 1980s, including a respray in its rare paint, this GT retains all its original glass, excluding the driver’s vent window. Inside, the black vinyl trim was replaced with correct pattern material and a NOS dash fascia was sourced, with the carpets and headlining said to be in good condition.
The original, matching numbers 351 V8 was rebuilt during the restoration, at which time the factory automatic was replaced with a period-correct 4-speed Toploader manual. The rear drum brakes were also upgraded to GTHO-spec at this time, but the power steering was a factory feature, identified in the car’s ACCHS report and making this vehicle unique in XY Falcon GT production.
Although the restoration was completed in 1990, this XY GT wasn’t re-registered until 1994. It’s only been owned by collectors since, all of whom have kept the car stored undercover, so it remains in good, well-maintained gcondition inside and out.
