Auction Car Highlights
With 65 vehicles on offer, there’s plenty to choose from and something to suit just about any automotive taste.
Here are some of the highlights…
Lot 100 – 1971 Ford XY Falcon GT
Genuine GT, full restoration, matching numbers 351 and 4spd manual, multi-award winner
This genuine, matching numbers, XY Falcon GT has been through a full restoration and won a huge number of awards since. One of 32 produced in True Blue with a black interior, this GT spent over 23 years with the previous owners. The current owner has continued to improve the car with minor additions and adjustments.
Sitting on a set of genuine 5-slot wheels, a full set of Option 52 Sports road wheels are included, this GT’s interior, in factory black, features the original seat trim, dash, crash pad, hoodlining and door cards. The boot has a repro mat and restored jack and accessories.
The matching numbers, 351ci Cleveland V8 was rebuilt during the restoration, to “day one” presentation, as was the factory Top Loader four-speed manual and 9-inch diff.
This GT has won a huge number of trophies, including Gold and Silver awards at the GT Nationals in Bathurst, Brisbane and Adelaide.
The sale of this genuine GT comes complete with Ford verification letter and has been inspected by ICAARS for authenticity.

Lot 96 – 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A Six Pack
Genuine Challenger T/A, four-year resto, matching numbers 340 V8, Tremec manual, factory diff
Dodge’s Challenger T/A was a one-year-only model, designed to homologate the new Dodge pony car for SCCA Trans Am competition in the US (hence the ‘T/A’ suffix), with only 2,399 built.
The vendor bought this car in poor condition five years ago, but as it was a genuine, matching numbers Challenger T/A, it was worth the time and expense of restoration. No shortcuts were taken (including a $35K rebuild of the genuine 340ci ‘Six Pack’ V8), but a few minor mods were made.
These include the paint, with the factory Burnt Orange replaced with Panther Pink, and swapping the auto transmission for a modern five-speed manual. The fibreglass bonnet, 15-inch wheels and rear-mount antenna are all T/A authentic.
The rebuilt, matching numbers 340ci V8 has been stroked to 408ci and is matched to a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual and factory 8.75-inch diff. Suspension (independent front, leaf spring rear) has been rebuilt, as have the brakes (disc front, drum rear) and power steering.
Inside, the period front seats have been trimmed in leather and the sound system mildly upgraded, but overall, the cabin retains a C1970 factory look, including removable floor matting.

Lot 97 – 1968 Ford Mustang GT500E Eleanor tribute
High-quality Eleanor tribute, 351 V8, C10 auto, functional side pipes, p/steer, p/disc brakes
What started as a California built ’68 Mustang C Code fastback was transformed into an Eleanor lookalike from Gone in 60 Seconds after it was shipped to Victoria approximately 10 years ago.
The Eleanor kit used on this car was one of a limited run produced by Cinema Vehicle Services, using the same moulds as those used for the movie cars and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity confirming as such.
Finished in Pepper Grey with black Shelby stripes and 18-inch front/20-inch rear American Racing wheels, the interior continues the authentic Eleanor look, with retrimmed seats and doorcards in black, an AutoMeter tacho on the steering column and nitrous arming switch, while the auto shifter replicates the manual of the movie car with its white knob and red button.
Under the bonnet, the 351 V8 features a bunch of modern gear (Edelbrock, CrowCams, Crane, Melling, etc), along with functional side-exit exhausts and has recently been tuned. It’s matched to a Ford C10 3-speed auto and 9-inch diff.

Lot 62 – 1976 Holden HX LE Coupe
Survivor spec, genuine ‘last of the Monaros’, 308 V8, 3spd auto, ICAARS inspected
Introduced in 1976, the HX LE was the last in the line of two-door Holdens that started with the HK Monaro in 1968. Never badged as a Monaro, or referred to as such in advertising, the LE stood for Limited Edition and referred to the fact that just 580 were built,
All were in the same colour (LE Red), with the same velour/vinyl interior trim (Cinnabar red), same gold Honeycomb wheels and same running gear, consisting of a 308 V8 and three-speed automatic. As they were so well-equipped from the factory (air con, power windows, power steering, rear window demister, power aerial, 8-track stereo), there were virtually no options.
Full history on this car is not listed, but it’s described as a survivor, with the paint believed to be original, and while the engine bay, interior and boot show signs of wear, everything’s incredibly clean for a car that’s almost 50 years old.
Documentation includes a GM-H build sheet, ICAARS authenticity report and various receipts.

Lot 38 – 1971 Buick GS Stage 1
Rare US muscle, 455 V8, T400 auto, factory triple black, fully restored
Amongst the Chargers, 4-4-2s, ‘Cudas, Torinos, Chevelles, Firebirds, Mustangs, Cougars and Camaros, muscle car offerings from Buick tend to get overlooked, but they were in the performance game just as deep as their GM siblings, as well as their rivals.
The GS was Buick’s prime muscle offering of the era (the Grand National and GNX came later) and combined a monster engine with premium appointments befitting the marque. In this instance, that monster was a 455ci V8 that delivered 400hp and 460lb/ft from the factory in ‘Stage 1’ tune.
Fully restored approximately thirteen years ago, this GS Stage 1 was a rare ‘triple black’ car (black paint, black vinyl roof, black interior) from the factory and was ordered with the handling package that included large front and rear sway bars.
The restoration deviated only slightly from factory spec, with the changes including wider factory-look wheels and an aftermarket steering wheel, while selected 1970 GS engine internals and aftermarket headers deliver more power.
Documentation provided with this car includes the original sales invoice, warranty booklet and photographs of the restoration.

Lot 61 – 1965 Volkswagen 23-window Samba tribute
Rebuild to 23-window Samba spec from 15-window bus, LHD, 1.6 flat four, 4spd manual, front disc brakes
Kombis have been at the high end of classic VW collectability and the ’23-window’ Samba microbus is the very top of the tree for many. With genuine examples hard to come by and prohibitively expensive, many replicas have been built and this is one of the better ones.
What started as a 15-window bus was transformed into a 23-window Samba as part of a comprehensive nut-and-bolt restoration by the second owner that was completed approximately two years ago.
Multiple replacement panels were sourced and the body repaired before the new paint, Blauweiss over Turquoise, was applied and accented with new stainless and chrome from nose to tail, 14-inch wheels and whitewall tyres.
The engine is a factory-spec 1600cc four, as is the four-speed manual, but disc brakes and coilover suspension have been fitted at the front end, with (LHD) steering upgraded to rack-and-pinion.
Interior trim is factory-style vinyl, with belts for all nine seats, a fabric sunroof and pop-out Safari windows.
This is one of two classic Kombis for sale in this auction, with the other bring a 1962 RHD 23-window conversion with upgraded engine, IRS and premium leather interior.

Lot 8 – 1959 Ford Ranchero
Full bare metal restoration, 272 V8, T700 auto, LHD, mild custom interior, rare in Australia
The ute was already an old concept in Australia before the Americans took to the idea, with Ford the first to market with the ‘Ranchero’ for 1957, followed by Chevrolet with the El Camino two years later.
As Australian ute buyers were already catered for, the Ranchero was never offered here, which makes any example on our shores a rarity.
This Ranchero was purchased by the current owner in 2015 and stripped to bare metal for rust repair before a repaint in metallic green and white, sourced from Peugeot and Mazda colour palettes, respectively.
All the exterior chrome and stainless trim was refurbished or replaced, with whitewall tyres fitted for a period look. A new tray floor was installed, protected by Raptor lining in black.
The period-correct 292 V8 was rebuilt, but the transmission has been upgraded to a T700 automatic. Rebuilt diff, suspension and brakes are all factory spec, with a new wiring loom fitted, too.
As the vendor is a motor trimmer, he completed most of the interior himself, with white vinyl and green fabric on the bench seat, matching door trims with 1954 Mercury garnish and black carpets with white edging. Aftermarket gauges have been fitted, along with a Lokar shifter for the auto.
