This gorgeous 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible is powered by a 239ci flathead V8. This rare beauty was first imported to Melbourne in 2016. The current owner purchased this convertible in 2020 and have since converted the electrical system from 6 to 12 volt, which is not easy nor cheap. It is now a super reliable regularly driven vehicle and has been appreciated at numerous major public events and promotions in and around the Gold Coast area for many years. The most recent service was completed on 25 June. This car originally came out with all the desirable optional extras – Columbia overdrive (for highway cruising on 2nd and 3rd gear), wing mirrors, a chrome number plate surround, and an original leather interior with pristine door cards. This Ford drives with a substantial amount of power in comparison to how she ran previously and is incredibly smooth on the road. The owner opted for the alternator that looks like the old generator. Genuine Firestone cross ply white wall tyres. The original working valve radio is included in the sale. It was removed to allow room for the retrofitting of power window wipers. The original radio is included with the car as are many other take-offs and accessories. All the take-off parts were carefully removed and boxed up when the 12 volt conversion was undertaken so the ability to convert back to 6volt with all the original parts remains a possibility for a purchaser preferring originality. Two 6 volt Optima red top batteries have been installed as the power convertible top and overdrive operate on 6 volt, everything else is 12 volt. She is a real head-turner attracting attention where ever it is driven. Chrome and diecast brigtwork is all in very good condition. The body has for small marks and scars that only add to the appeal of a survivor car as opposed to a fully restored example. The prestige plates BIFF 46 are available by negotiation. The original spats and a custom cover from Purfit Car Covers are also included in the sale. This a fantastic car for a Back to the Future fan.
