Chassis completed on 24 October 1955 and despatched on 9 November 1955 to Sagers, of Salisbury and Bulawayo, Rhodesia. Understood to have been owned by the Wilson family in Bulawayo, Mr Wilson thought to have been an architect. It has also been said that the car was delivered by ship to Cape Town and driven up from there by a Sagers' employee, Mr Strydom. A photograph published in Jaguar Magazine #185 (March 2017) showed the Jaguar dealer Sagers' premises in the 1950s with a very dark coloured XK140 DHC with very dark top, outside with other sedans. The XK could be either 807299DN or 807480DN - both were Black cars with Black tops. The car apparently eventually passed from the Wilsons to a small time Zimbabwean dealer Ron Stirling, from whom in the late 1970s or early 1980s it was acquired by David Stronge. In 2003 he brought the car out from Zimbabwe to Perth.
