The Mustang GT/CS - Sold only through California Ford Dealers and made to a brief developed in consultation between Lee Grey, Ford's then Southern California District Sales Manager and Ford MD, Lee Iacocca. To make the Mustangs sold in California look unique Carroll Shelby was assigned the task of designing and engineering the necessary parts and assembly procedures for the GT/CS. Approximately 3,800 California Specials were built - only in 1968. This unrestored Acapulco Blue original example features the original C-code 289 2V with C4 3 speed T-bar auto. Optioned with factory power steering, power disc brakes, centre console and styled steel wheels. Exterior is still the original Acapulco Blue with some stress cracks & age patina. Good body with original quarter panels. This a great looking 5 ft car & could be used as a daily driver. Engine was in good nick when purchased but has been treated to a freshen up by an old school Ford mechanic in Hobart. Transmission has been rebuilt and the car has a new exhaust.
