The XC Falcon / Fairmont was the third and final update of the third generation Ford Falcon. The XC was produced for just shy of three short years between 1976-79 and was an instant success. The XC had to receive some major updates to meet new ADR requirements for both emissions and safety, including a new crossflow head with dropped compression ratios and a weight increase overall. However, Ford still claimed a 10% increase in power for the new engine updates.
This example of an XC Fairmont sedan was factory finished in Emerald Green. Although suffering from some damage and wear, it appears to have avoided the common major rust. The XC is overall complete and with restoration would make a great base for a street build. The engine does turn over and the car does run and move, however, there is a significant coolant leak.
