Introduced in September 2015 and finishing in October 2017 the VF Series II was to be the last Australian Commodore, before the introduction of the imported Opel Insignia based ZB Commodore in February 2018, ending the 37 year run.
To send off the last Australian Commodore properly, Holden improved the base specification on the entire range, with the top Commodore, the SS V Redline reaping huge benefits including: improved brake & suspension packages, extra collision sensors, a sunroof, Bose audio, larger optional 20-inch wheels, front fog lights, leather seats, an enhanced instrument display, 8-Way electric driver's seat and satellite navigation.
The VF SII SS V Redline featured the previously HSV only LS3 6.2L V8 producing 304kW & 570Nm as standard, a large leap from the L77 fitted to the first generation VF which produced 260kW & 517N.m.
This VFII was produced on 11 October 2017, making it one of the last ever Commodores manufactured in Australia. Delivered by Preston Motors (Essendon) on 28 December 2017 the V8 is finished in the popular combination of Nitrate (metallic) with contrasting Jet Black interior. Having travelled a mere ~4,800 kms since delivery the vehicle presents like new. There is ample power combined with a throaty V8 burble as the revs build and the Brembo brakes will bring you to a halt quickly.
