Davison out, Gray in at DJR
After eight years across two separate stints, Will Davison will end his time with Dick Johnson Racing (Shell V-Power Racing Team) at the end of the 2025 Repco Supercars season. His replacement in the Queensland-based squad will be this year’s Dunlop Super2 Series championship contender, Rylan Gray.

Davison made his full time Supercars debut with Dick Johnson Racing in 2006 and remained with the team until 2009. He then spent time with the Holden Racing Team, Ford Performance Racing, Erebus Motorsport, Tekno Autosports and 23 Red Racing, before returning to DJR in 2021. While Davison is a two-time Bathurst winner and Supercars championship runner-up, most of his success has been achieved with other teams. Across both DJR stints, Davison’s tally (at time of writing) stands at five race wins, with a best championship placing of fourth in 2021.

Davison will reach a personal milestone in his penultimate round with DJR – 600 Supercars starts – which is only bettered by Craig Lowndes, Garth Tander, Mark Winterbottom and James Courtney.
"I've had two great stints with this team, and I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved together,” Davison said. “It's the right time for both of us to move forward. To achieve 600 starts at Sandown - a track that means so much to my family - is special.”

The driver to fill Davison’s seat at DJR is Rylan Gray. The 18-year-old from Muswelbrook, NSW, made his Super3 debut in 2023, before stepping up to the Dunlop Super2 Series with Tickford Racing in 2024, then making his Supercars debut this year as a wildcard. Already the youngest ever Super2 round winner, Gray is likely to win this year’s Super2 championship, and also has the first Mustang GT4 race win outside of North America on his resume.
"This is my dream opportunity,” Gray enthused. “I'm under no illusions about how tough my rookie year will be, but I'm ready to work hard and learn from everyone at the Shell V-Power Racing Team.
"I'm so thankful to the Doc [Ryan Story], Dick and Jillie Johnson and the Ralph family for this opportunity."

DJR Executive Chairman, Dr Ryan Story AM, describes signing Gray as an investment in the future.
“Brodie [Kostecki] gives us proven championship-winning pace and pedigree, and Rylan represents our commitment to developing the next generation,” Story said. “This combination positions us perfectly for both immediate competitiveness and long-term success.
“We're not in the business of coming second – we're building a lineup that can win in 2026 and the years to come."
