Lotus launches personalisation service
Lotus are joining other prestige and luxury car brands, like Bentley, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce in offering a vehicle personalisation service for their customers. Known as ‘Lotus Chapman Bespoke’ in honour of Lotus founders, Colin and Hazel Chapman, the service will stretch from simple things, like special colours, badging and interior trim, to complete one-off builds.
Created in response to what Lotus says was popular demand, Lotus Chapman Bespoke launched in China in April, with the service to be offered through the rest of the world by the end of 2024.
“The story of Lotus is the story of a bespoke carmaker," said Qingfeng Feng, CEO, Lotus Group. "The first cars were hand-drawn and hand-built at home by Colin Chapman, and that spirit lives on in us today.”
Ben Payne, VP Design, Lotus Group, added; “Many of our customers are looking for a bespoke experience; be that colour, texture, fabric, detail – and we are excited to see their individuality stamped on our cars around the world.”
Services offered under Lotus Chapman Bespoke will be split into three areas – ‘tailor-made,’ ‘collection’ and ‘one-off’. Tailor-made allows Lotus customers to choose from a wide range of colours and finishes, with "exclusive personal touches and details" offered as well. Collection will consist of limited-edition vehicles and other Lotus-badged creations, created in partnership with luxury brands, artists and other collaborators. One-off is devoted to completely bespoke vehicles, like those created by Ferrari Special Projects.
When Lotus Chapman Bespoke will be available in Australia had not been confirmed at time of writing.
