May will be a standout month with Burns & Co’s next THREE-NIGHT auction
It’s getting colder outside, but at Burns & Co. Auctions, it’s heating up with another big, three-night auction scheduled for May. Running across Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th May, 2026, the next Burns & Co. auction brings together a carefully curated mix of premium muscle, classic and collectable vehicles, motorcycles, affordable classics, project cars, automobilia and garage memorabilia.

Nights 1 and 2 will feature Burns & Co’s ‘Muscle, Classic & Collectable Car & Motorcycle Auction,’ with a strong focus on Australian muscle, modern performance, blue-chip collector vehicles, motorcycles, European classics and American icons. Night 3 rounds out the auction with the ‘Motoring & Affordable Classics Auction,’ offering a broader catalogue of usable classics, enthusiast vehicles, projects, parts, workshop stock and garage collectables.

Night 1 of the live auction, on Monday 18th May, will see the first lot go under the hammer at the bidder-friendly time of 6:00pm AEST. Night 2 (Tuesday 19th May) and Night 3 (Wednesday 20th May) also commence from 6:00pm AEST.
As always with Burns & Co auctions, bidding is available online, on the phone, through absentee bidding forms or in person at their Victorian auction rooms - 4 Market Drive, Bayswater, VIC 3153.
NOTE: There is no in-person bidding at Burns & Co’s Newcastle/Central Coast premises.

Ford performance is once again a key feature across the May catalogue, supported by a strong mix of classic Blue Oval heroes, modern collector cars and American performance. Highlights include a superb 1970 Ford XY GT Falcon 351 V8 automatic sedan in Bronze Wine and 1-of-1 spec, an ultra-low kilometre 2015 FG X Falcon XR8 335 Boss, a 2007 BF Falcon GT, 1976 XB Falcon GS panel van, and a highly collectable 1975 Ford XB Fairmont 302 V8 7-seat wagon.
These are complemented by a 2018 Shelby Mustang Super Snake wide body, a 1971 Mustang Mach 1 tribute, 1966 Mustang convertible, and a broad selection of other Aussie and American Ford classics across the three nights.

A late arrival for this auction is a 1968 Ford ZB Fairlane Custom that’s – incredibly – a one-owner car from new. The sole owner was a Ford employee who followed his car down the line at Broadmeadows. Finished in Lustre Bronze with Palomino vinyl and velour trim, the Fairlane was factory-equipped with a 3.6-litre (221ci) six, matched to a column-shift three-speed automatic transmission.
While the Custom (the base model, below the Fairlane 500) could be customised with a range of options, hence the name, the first and only owner of this Fairlane kept it mostly stock, including the bench front seat.
Owned, driven and cherished for 58 years, this Fairlane is original and unrestored, with 5,471 miles on the odometer at time of listing. This time capsule will be offered unreserved on Night 3 (20th May).

Enthusiasts of Holden performance are well catered for, with an exceptional line-up of Brock-era, HSV and classic models leading the way. Highlights include a 1985 HDT VK SS Brock (Build #2970), a genuine 1974 HQ Monaro GTS 308 4-speed manual coupe, a genuine 1975 HJ Sandman XX7 panel van, 1977 HX GTS 308 sedan, 1988 VL Commodore SL BT1 Turbo, 1982 VH Commodore SL 253 manual in rare ‘Papaya’ paint, and a 1978 HZ Sandman panel van.
Modern Holden and HSV collectors will be drawn to the 2003 HSV VY Clubsport R8 sedan, 2007 VE Commodore SS sedan, 2008 VE Commodore SS ute, 2008 HSV Maloo R8 replica, 2017 Holden VF II ‘Motorsport Edition’ and an ultra-low kilometre 2017 HSV Gen-F GTS with Walkinshaw W507 kit.

Beyond Australian muscle, the May auction offers excellent diversity across multiple categories. European and prestige highlights include a 2003 Porsche 911 996 Turbo, 1996 Porsche 993 Targa, 1989 Porsche 928 S4, 2007 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, 1982 Mercedes-Benz 500SL convertible, 2000 Mercedes-Benz CL500 coupe, a rare 1970 BMW 1602 manual sedan, prestige 2001 Bentley Arnage Turbo V8 sedan, restored 1964 Jaguar S Type and a 1954 Citroen Big 15 front-wheel drive sedan, providing strong variety for those chasing European character, prestige and collectability.

American classics remain strong attractions at Burns & Co. auctions, with standout entries for May including a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda 440 V8, 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible, 1962 Ford Thunderbird convertible, 1969 Dodge Dart Custom, a gold and bold 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, 2014 AC Cobra replica from Backdraft Racing, 1983 Chevrolet Camaro and 1970 Chevrolet C20 pickup in CST spec giving the catalogue plenty of V8 presence and visual appeal.
For something newer – and much faster! – from the USA, the May auction also includes a low km 2023 Corvette C8 Stingray coupe in Australian-delivered RHD form.

Motorcycle offerings feature a strong mix of classic, vintage and collector bikes, including a 1968 Harley-Davidson FLH “Genny Shovel,” 2014 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, 1971 Norton Commando, 2007 BMW F800ST, two BSA Bantams (125cc and 175cc), 1961 Matchless CSR, 1967 Vespa 150 Super and a well-documented 1974 Honda Mini Trail. A selection of automobilia, pedal cars, signage, parts, wheels and garage collectables add further depth to the three-night offering.

Night 3 provides a slightly different flavour to the first two nights, with the Motoring & Affordable Classics Auction offering a broader and more accessible catalogue. This includes affordable classics, usable enthusiast vehicles, commercials, projects, parts, wheels, memorabilia and garage items — making it an ideal night for practical buyers, restorers, first-time bidders and those chasing something interesting or hard to find. Most Night 3 lots are being offered unreserved.
