Midwinter delights at JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane
The variety and quality of cars that come to JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane never fails to impress. That tradition continued for the July edition of these monthly car meets at Café Elle in Geebung.
From Aussie muscle to kei cars, and European performance to classic American iron, there was something to appeal to just about everyone.

JUST CARS’ recent callout for more JDM cars to attend these meets was answered, with some previously unseen Japanese metal making the journey to Café Elle. Other newcomers included a squad of Kia Stingers, with the Subaru WRX fraternity representing in numbers, too.
Of the Japanese cars, one of the highlights was a stickered-up Nissan Silvia S13, with a C1993 Toyota MkII (a relative to the local market Avalon) and Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX wagon turning heads, too.

Of the European brands, BMW was well represented, with the highlight amongst this group being a 1971 2800 CS in black, rolling on a set of BBS alloys. Just as striking was a 1980s Volvo 240 with a quad headlight treatment rarely seen here. The forward-mount mirrors added a JDM look, enhanced by cambered, deep-dish alloys, but the sunvisor was a very Aussie touch.

Another standout Euro car was a Porsche 914 that looked ready to tackle a tarmac rally with its auxiliary lighting, wide wheels and flared arches. Late-model Porsches and an Audi R8 in an unusual camel colour also made an impression.

American cars included a mid-1930s Chrysler, late-1970s GMC Sierra Classic pickup, 1967 Plymouth Belvedere, 1969 Camaro SS, an early 1970s Chevelle and a pair of new Mustangs. There was also an early 1950s DeSoto (presumably, based on the grille) that had the full lead sled treatment – chopped, lowered, nosed and decked, with side-exit exhausts, Starburst-style wheelcovers on wide whitewalls, and Cadillac tail lights tunnelled into the rear quarters.

As cool as that was, the car that put a smile on everyone’s face was a DeLorean. These Anglo-American cars have a small, but dedicated fanbase here in Australia. This one in stock condition - no flux capacitor!

The 1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner presented by BGS Classic Cars at the July meet has since found a buyer, proving that combining advertising in JUST CARS with presenting your vehicle at JUST CARS & COFFEE can deliver results. If your budget didn’t stretch to a 1:1 scale car, Diecast Diehards had plenty of scale model offerings, including a couple of Mad Max MFP cars in 1:24 scale that the JUST CARS team were tempted to snap up themselves!

Held on the last Saturday of each month, JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane welcomes all classic, custom and collectable cars. The event is sponsored by The Plate Bracket Co., Diecast Diehards, Just Pro Tools, Avantgarde Financial Brokerage and BGS Classic Cars.
