A hand full of 1962 Starfire coupes were converted at the factory into pickups to be used as flower cars for dignitaries funerals.
This car was a cancelled order and was never converted fully into a flower car it found its way out to San Fransisco California where it was used as a driver for many years the mileage showing is very low.
I believe this car to be the only surviving example remaining. The body is quiet straight there are panel rust issues in the doors, boot floor, rear tail panel, boot lids and lower quarter panels. The underside and structure of the car is solid. Glass, Chrome and Stainless is all good with the exception of the bumpers that will need re- chroming. Factory black trim is all there but will need to be re trimmed due to sun damage.
The car is fully optioned with A/C, Power steer, Power brakes, Power windows Bucket seat / Console shifter and factory Taco.
The dash is complete and uncut someone has installed a late 70s Cadillac Telescopic steering wheel which is easily removed.
Engine will fire up and the car will run and move around she will however need a full going over both body and mechanically due to a long period of no use.
When I came across this old girl a few years back I could leave it behind and it has become the centre piece of discussion at our factory.
If different and one off is what you are looking for this old girl ticks the boxes it is one cool old car.
But be warned if you put this car on the road you will spend more time explaining it to people than driving it. INSTOCK
