This Ford Mustang GT is a rare and historically significant modern muscle car, which is one of just 44 officially completed examples of the Tickford Bathurst ’77 Special – built to commemorate Ford’s iconic 1-2 finish at the 1977 Bathurst 1000.
It is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 producing 727hp and 820Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
This example is build number 13, and features the full Bathurst-inspired livery including optional race numbers and unique Tickford badging, along with Allan Moffat’s signature on the dashboard and sun visor.
Factory and Tickford performance upgrades include a Roush-developed Stage 2 supercharger with cold-air induction, a 60mm dual-bore. throttle body, an 80mm pulley, an uprated intercooler, a revised ECU, NGK plugs, and a bespoke Tickford 3-inch quad-tip exhaust system.
Handling is sharpened by Tickford coilovers and dampers (lowered by 25mm), Steeda front K-brace, and Ultralite G-Trac rear braces.
Braking is enhanced with Wilwood six-piston front callipers on 15-inch slotted discs and four-piston rear callipers on 14-inch slotted discs.
