Initial details for the FIA Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2027 have been released, with a couple of big changes for the local round. The Australian GP will move from its traditional season-opening slot to the third round for 2027, and there will be an F1 Sprint Race in Australia for the very first time.
On the calendar change, this has largely been driven by the cancellation of this year’s races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which will be rounds 1 and 2 in 2027. Round three for 2027 will be held at Albert Park on 1-4 April. This aligns with the Victorian school holiday period, making it easier for families to attend the event.
Tickets for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2027 go on sale in October, with a staggered release that starts on Thursday, 1 October for Albert Park Circuit Club members, followed by American Express Card Members on Friday, 2 October. All other ticket options for the general public will be released on Tuesday, 6 October. NOTE: 2 and 6 October release tickets will be available from 12 noon.
The Albert Park Circuit Club is a new membership program for 2027 that guarantees members a ticket, earlier circuit access and a “year-round connection”. With an estimated 483,934 spectators last year, and three of the four days selling out, fans are urged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.
The first F1 Sprint Race at Albert Park will be held on Saturday, 3 April, adding another element to the Australian round, following qualifying on Friday, 2 April, with the Grand Prix on Sunday, 4 April.
