The Valiant Charger created huge interest upon its introduction in August 1971. Part of the only Australian-designed Valiant family at that time - the VH Series - the Charger was released two months after the VH sedan. The two-door Charger was an immediate success, and within 12 months accounted for 50 percent of all Valiant sales.
